Born in le Havre, France, Benjamin Bruant began his musical study at the age of seven in his home town, going on to study both music and physics. After obtaining his degree in physics he moved to C.N.R de Paris to improve his knowledge of music, studying there for three years with Pedro Ibanez. Thanks to his teacher, he auditioned successfully for the MA programme at the Royal Academy of Music in London where he is now studying with Michael Lewin.

An eclectic musician, Benjamin's guitar repertoire encompasses all periods. He has won prizes in many guitar competitions, including those of Fontenay sous Bois, Montigny le Bretonneux and the Union Francaise des artistes musiciens. He has performed in concerts in France and England and recently gave two concerts for television in China.
